I know that I don't update this site as often as I should ..or could, but feel free to check out the Cameron site for any recent news! Things remain much the same on the Broken Saddle. Check out Sam's page---Snips and Snails! He's the newest addition to our family, and what a treasure he is! I'm editing from Lousiana today. Much as I've loved spending time with David and his family, I'm suffering a bout of homesickness at the moment. Marshall has the garden started on the Broken Saddle, and I'm ready to get back home and get my hands dirty in the garden! Can't wait to pet my own dog Riley, play with the horses, and snuggle up at night with my husband. David's Jack Russel Terrier (Jack) has been a good bed companion these last couple of months...and yet a sorry substitute for Marshall! I hope everyone is enjoying a warm spring....Keep in touch!

Hello All. Well, We made it to February. Our January was the warmest on record here. Too bad for the energy companies, but too good for us! My thoughts are turning towards warmer days yet, and of course BIG gardens!
I spent two weeks in Casper with Dan and his family. It was a much needed reprieve from the hum drum of winter on the acreage. I enjoyed the visit with my granddaughters so much! Dan and Jess are ever the gracious host and hostess to me. They gave me the space to work out my gumbled thoughts, and clear my pea brain. Marshall has the trip out to Casper down to 9 1/2 hours, so I foresee more trips west in my future. Not until I get down South to visit David, though. The trip to Bastrop is very much overdue!
Getting Roxy broke is the next adventure to overcome here. The children have provided the money, now we just have to get the appointment set up. Roxy will be surprised to learn she is a horse, not a pet (she thinks she's a big dog!). We will work on getting Gypsy finished off this year, and I envision some trail rides for me and my family.
Most of you know that I am fighting off that Black Dog again. With Dan's help I hope to get the depression under control soon! Until next time...Keep in touch, Carol

Shame on me for not updating sooner! Things have been slow here on the Broken Saddle. Not much to report. We are ready for Christmas. There is a nice layer of snow for the Holidays this year. The weatherman is reporting that we should expect some nice weather. Christmas Eve will be at Val's. Christmas Day at Mom and Dad Janssens and at Denise's. Dave should be headed North as I type. It has been a year since we have seen him, so I'm more than ready to hold him feast my eyes on him again! Dan, Jess and the angels will be spending Christmas in Casper.
Jodi's twins are home now, and doing well from all reports. Craig's son Ross got home from Iraq, and we will see him at Christmas. Kevin is still in Iraq, so please keep him your prayers and thoughts.
Our Thanksgiving went well at Don and Pam's. Too much food and football, but that's what it is all about. Speaking of Football, David's Rams went all the way this year and took the Louisiana High School Football championship! Rah! David!
Marshall turned 55 today. Wow, but these years go fast! I have to be 50 in January, but I think we are both aging well! LOL! That's it for now, keep in touch!-Carol

Been a long time since I updated this site, so I guess I better come up with some new news. First of all congrats go out to Jodi and Chris Saunders on the birth of their twins. My mother reports to me that they are small (around three pounds each) but doing well. I believe she told me they are named Jay and Cole, but you know sometimes mom gets these details a little mixed up. Congrats to sister Morgan, grandma Charleen, grandpa Dale, and Great grandparents Chuck and JoAnn. I'm patiently waiting for pictures to add of the twins to this site and the Heesch Newsletter.
We had our first snowfall last Saturday. The summer sure slipped away fast. The garden produced enough good eats to keep us all fat and sassy this winter here on the Broken Saddle!
Dan and Jessica have made their big move to Casper Wy. They have bought a home, and Dan starts his new job this week. We sure enjoyed Dan's visit to the acreage in the beginning of the month, and our granddaughters seemed to have a good time riding horses and playing on the acreage. They followed up their trip to Elkton with a trip to Disneyland, where Natalie and Rachel got to meet some real bonified princcesses! They were both so excited, and I loved hearing all of the details of their trip. Still waiting for Disneyland pictures, Dan!
That's it for all news fit to report from The Broken Saddle....Keep in Touch!

Can you believe that Elkton School starts in less than 2 weeks? Seems like once the corn has tassled the schools open their doors for another year.
We had a wonderful Heesch family reunion in July. It was a very nice turn out. It was so nice to see so many cousins gathering for a family tradition. Thanks Jenny and Jason for the use of your lovely home. On a sad note I want to express my sympathy to Jason and Jenny Lindblad and their family at the loss of Jason's mother. She was very ill and hospitalized during their preparations for the reunion, but Jason and Jenny toughed it out for the rest of us. Talk about troopers!
We made our trip to Colorado Springs. Pictures are under Our Precious Angles. We surely enjoyed our time with Dan and his girls. Jessica was in San Diego for most of our visit, but we did get to see her overnight on our stop home in North Platte, NE. Dan and his family are doing well, and are planning their move to Casper Wy in late September. They have to find a new home there yet, so I'm sure the next few week will be busy for them!
Steve and Sue kept the home fires burning while we were on vacation. It was good to get home. The local crops were the best we had seen in all our travels.
Dave has started his 2005 football season. We wish him all the best luck! That's it for now...Remember...Keep in Touch....Carol

Hello to Our Family and Friends!
We have just moved into those lazy hazy days of Summer! The 4th was a lot of fun here on the Broken Saddle. I have added pictures from the 4th and the Janssen Family Picnic to the site. One more reunion for the summer to go. Next week we head to Willmar for the Heesch Reunion. The following weekend we are off to the wilds of Colorado country to visit Dan and his family for a week. Can hardly wait to be kissing up on the grandbabies!
Till next time...Keep in Touch....Carol!
